PERSECUTION IN ORISSA AND KARNATAKA , INDIA

Orissa is known for its tribal population as well as known to the world through the atrocity against Australian missionary Graham Steins and his two children Philip and Timothy. They were burned alive in 1999.

The third week of August 2008 Viswa Hindu Parishad leader Swami Laxmananda Saraswathi was killed by Maoist (naxalite) and VHP took this opportunity to blame Christians for killing this man and erupted communal violence. The persecution started on 23rd August 2008.  Till today  hundreds of Christians are killed and many are running for  their life to the forest. Several Christian worship places and homes  of Christians are destroyed and pastors are targeted.. Police issued shoot at sight order. But planned attack is taking place and it’s beyond the control of police and Para military forces.

Actually intensified combing by Andhra and Chattisgarh police forced naxalite to migrate to Orissa forest. This Swami was very influential among the tribal groups and few years ago he marked Christian homes and told his cadre to destroy Christians. 

If swami is alive, naxals couldn’t have their monopoly among tribal groups. In order to root among tribal population naxalites eliminated the Swami. Now the people of the living God is under major attack and in trouble. After the atrocity in Orissa, Hindu fanatic organizations targeted Karnataka State. September 14th 2008 Bajrangdal activist attacked and vandalized seven churches in Uduppi and Chikmangalore districts. Unconfirmed report says that they have swift plan to attack 200 churches and kill 200 pastors within few days time. Even they targeting prominent pastors in Bangalore too.

Pray that the Lord would protect His church in these States. Pray that Lord would bring His fear upon Bajrangdal, RSS, Viswa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagaranmunch and BJP leaders and activists and prevent them touching God's people. Lord said 'I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail it' Yes... Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.
